Airplanes and New York City and Cardiologists Oh My!

 This coming New Year's Eve will mark our 5-year wedding anniversary (go us!). We got married in New York City on NYE and vowed to go back for our anniversary in 5 years. I love the city in general, but this time we decided to go just before Christmas instead of going at New Year's with all the crazy people.   We flew in on a Wednesday and had a turbulent landing due to the immense wind, but we were still excited! We got our luggage, hit the exit doors, and immediately realized we were not equipped enough for the cold we were experiencing. On top of the cold, the wind was excruciating standing in a line outside the airport for 20 minutes to get a taxi. Carter and I aren't the most social people, but I was so cold that when they asked if anyone wanted to share a taxi with someone going the same route and skip the line I raised my hand.  Ok, anyone who's ever been a part of the IVF world knows the saying "IVF got this." Catchy isn't it? I surely didn't come up with it, but I'll shamelessly use it because that's the attitude I have towards it. So for those of you who aren't familiar with infertility treatment (IVF specifically) let me give you a quick rundown: First you see a reproductive endocrinologist who attempts to further diagnose your infertility. You go through many different steps depending on the cause. For us the problem is "male factor" or MF as we IVFers know it. Once it is determined that IVF is the only route to go, you start off on a path that many women claim is the hardest thing they have ever gone through. It's emotionally draining, not to mention very expensive. You're trying to wrap your head around how you're going to pay for it and how you'll handle all the injections, all while cursing your body and questioning why it can't do...
