The Results Are In....

So I had my egg retrieval yesterday and we got the call with our numbers today! Drum roll please........ So apparently these are decent numbers! Basically what it means is that out of the 7 mature eggs we had, 5 of them fertilized and began dividing right away and 2 of them either aren't dividing or are dividing too slowly for us to see right now. We have to wait another few days for an update, but they grow them to around day 5 and then they send them off for genetic testing before freezing them. Once the genetic screening comes back we will see how many normal ones we have and decide when to do the transfer from there! My veins were being super stubborn yesterday so it took 6 sticks to get my IV, but we got it in and got everything done and we were good! I'm so happy with these numbers, but keep the good juju flowing so that they continue to thrive and pass genetic screening with flying colors!

Always Late

I've mentioned that I'm a super procrastinator and am known for my lateness right? Mind you I'm not late for things that have a set time, but I'm often there right on time. I'm early for work because it takes 12 years to walk from the parking lot they seclude us to into the hospital so I always try to give myself ample time for delays- like forgetting my badge in my car and not realizing it until I get inside the building. I'm also early for doctors appointments. I think it's safe to say that my being late has improved dramatically as the years have gone by because I don't like the rushed and anxious feeling of running behind. That being said though I do have a genetic predisposition to being late so it definitely takes a lot of work to be early anywhere. Everyone on my dad's side of the family has a running joke that we will all be late to our own funerals. The good thing is that my lateness is almost always caused by overscheduling because I try t...

Busy, Busy, Busy

We've had a busy start to our new year! We went to New York in December for our 5 year anniversary and had a blast! Well, minus my heart rate getting into the 170's and me almost passing out in the Statue of Liberty- I could have done without that part. Now my heart rate easily goes into the 140's when I'm barely working out and I have always attributed it to being out of shape (even though round is a shape). However, after the incident in NYC Carter gave me an ultimatum- I either see a cardiologist or he wouldn't participate in our IVF stuff. 🙄 I saw my cardiologist friend who specializes in electrophysiology of the heart. I explained what happened and I said "thats fine right?" and his response was "..... well, I won't say it's not fine, but I definitely need more information." That was on a Tuesday and I was in his office Friday for an EKG and the following Wednesday I had an echocardiogram which is an ultrasound that looks at the p...
